The Product Design Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo was established in 1983 with a Study on the Justification of Establishing a Study in which Professors Metka Kraigher Hozo, Zdenko Praskač and Besim Spahić participated with the support of Muhamed Karamehmedović. The founding act determined the basic program goals of the studies set by Zdenko Praskač in cooperation with Besim Spahić, as well as the conditions and manner of teaching.

Painter and curator Adna Muslija, graphic and marketing designer Ajla Salkić and producer and artist Benjamin Čengić, alumni of the Academy of Fine Arts and alumni of the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo, ie the founder of the Manifesto Gallery of Contemporary Arts, presented the concept and strategy of the Manifesto Gallery Department of Product Design within the teaching of Unique Design led by doc. mr. Natasa Perkovic.
