Stefan A. Schumer, with his floating archaic elements, chasms, broken stone, landscapes, aerial images, and urban regions, is not a destroyer of worlds: he pushes back vehemently against the relevance of reigning interests’ irrelevance, and he is conscious of how there exists no point of return.
Climate change, expanding deserts, parched harvests, forests aglow with flames, empty riverbeds, increasingly widespread poverty, pandemics, and war in Europe…. Conditions have deteriorated, have become perilous. Combining unreserved acknowledgement of this fact with an imperturbable creative drive is the true challenge.
As part of the rich program marking the jubilee 50th birthday of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Sarajevo, on Wednesday (July 20), the exhibition Graphic Maps SARAJEVO 92/93/94/95 was opened in the ALU Gallery. Those present were addressed by: Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, Prof. dr. Dubravka Pozderac Lejlić; exhibition curator Anja Bogojević, President of the International Peace Center and one of the organizers and promoters of the map project; art historian prof. Dr. emeritus Ibrahim Krzović, a participant in Mapa Sarajevo 95 and professor Nusret Pašić, an artist who participated in the creation of all four graphic maps.

An exhibition of the Interdisciplinary Study of Conservation and Restoration was opened in the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo on Wednesday (June 22, 2022) as part of a rich program to mark the jubilee 50th birthday of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo. The exhibition presents the works of former and current students of Interdisciplinary Studies, the first and second cycle of studies.
