The exhibition will be open for public from 21 May until 3 of June 2016, Monday – Saturday from 10.00-19.00.
Saturday, 21 May Workshop “Sustainable design strategies for fashion and textiles”
09.00 – 12.00 The environmental impacts of our production and consumption system are increasingly criticized, and textile/fashion designers are held responsible as creators of unsustainable products. In this workshop we will present the fundamentals of circular economy and ideas for transforming the current fashion system. We will offer some frameworks for change, through case examples from the Nordic region. The TEDs Ten cards, a toolbox for designers to help navigate the complexity of sustainability issues, will be used in order to develop ‘better’ clothes. The aim is to stimulate discussion and ideas for immediate use in daily design work. The workshop will be led by Tone Tobiasson, Editor of nicefashion.org and Sigrid Barnekow, Deputy Program Director of Mistra Future Fashion www.mistrafuturefashion.com.
